Mortifier

Overview
Mortifier is one of the most unique heroes in Spelltroum. He combines Physical Damage, Magical Damage, crowd control, positioning tricks, and explosive burst damage into a single hero. Unlike most melee heroes, Mortifier can be played in several completely different ways. Some players build him as a durable melee carry that relies on his powerful double attacks. Others focus entirely on his bombs and play him as a burst mage capable of instantly eliminating enemies with clever trap setups. Because of his versatility, Mortifier rewards creativity and game knowledge more than almost any other hero.
Playstyle
Unlike straightforward heroes, Mortifier is constantly looking for opportunities to outplay opponents. A skilled Mortifier player can turn a losing fight into a winning one with a single well-timed Swap. His signature combo: place Blast Traps, wait for an enemy to approach, then Swap them directly onto the traps — multiple explosions at once.
- •Ambushing enemies
- •Controlling space with traps
- •Punishing positioning mistakes
- •Saving allies with Swap
- •Playing as either Physical Damage carry or Magical Damage caster
Abilities
Basic Attack
Basic AttackBasic Attack. Mortifier's attacks have a chance to instantly reset their cooldown and strike again. The second attack deals additional Physical Damage and restores Health to Mortifier. Because of this mechanic, Mortifier can become surprisingly dangerous in direct melee combat. When built as a Physical Damage hero, repeated double attacks allow him to deal massive sustained damage while healing himself at the same time.
Swap
ActiveActive Ability. Mortifier instantly swaps positions with a selected target — enemy heroes, allied heroes, or various objects on the map. The ability also deals damage to the target. Swap is one of the most versatile abilities in Spelltroum. It can be used offensively to drag enemies into danger or defensively to save teammates from certain death.
Blast Trap
ActiveActive Ability. Mortifier places an explosive trap beneath himself. The trap detonates when an enemy enters its trigger range or its timer expires. The explosion deals Magical Damage and slows enemies. Enemies can see the trap and attempt to avoid it, creating an interesting mind game. Blast Trap is Mortifier's signature ability and the foundation of his mage playstyle. The classic combo: place traps, wait, then Swap an enemy directly onto them.
Super Spell
Super Spell
Last Laugh. Unlocked when Mortifier reaches Hero Power 9. After unlocking the ability, reaching Level 10 during a match grants a powerful bonus: when Mortifier dies, he automatically leaves behind a Blast Trap of his current level. Enemies can die while finishing him off, objectives become dangerous to collect, and melee heroes can accidentally trigger the trap while chasing him. This ability makes Mortifier dangerous even after death.
