However, the main reason players buy Helmet of Silence is access to Silence Runes. A well-timed Silence Rune can completely shut down an enemy hero for several seconds, preventing them from escaping, healing, or using powerful abilities.
Unique Effect
While destroying bushes, heroes have a chance to discover a Silence Rune. When activated, the rune creates a silence effect around the hero. Enemies affected by Silence cannot use abilities, can only use Basic Attacks, cannot activate healing abilities, cannot benefit from lifesteal effects, cannot use healing consumables, and cannot restore Health through other healing effects. The silence lasts for 5 seconds, which is often long enough to decide an entire fight. Additionally, activating the rune deals 1 point of damage to affected enemies. Although the damage is insignificant, it can interrupt Health regeneration timers and prevent enemies from immediately starting their natural regeneration.
